Mrs. Asha Swaroop, IAS is the Chief Secretary of the Government of Himachal Pradesh. She is a 1973 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. On 20th June 2008 she replaced Sh. Ravi Dhingra for the post. After Smt. Rajindra Bhattacharya, who was chief secretary during the earlier tenure of Hon'ble Chief Minister P.K. Dhumal, Smt. Asha Swaroop is only the second woman officer to hold this important rank in the state. Mrs. Swaroop was secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India, before she returned to her home cadre.
